How To Start Locs With Two Strand Twists Happily Ever Natural This is a video giving a 8 week 2month update on a dreadlock journey that was started with two strand twist starter locs. this update is also a tutorial on h. 3. take one section of your hair and divide it into two equal strands. overlap the ends of each section and twist them together until they form a single strand. start at the root and work your way down to the ends. the tighter you twist the hair, the neater your locs will be. Depending on how big or small you want your locs, take a section of hair at a time, part a small section with a comb, preferably in a square, and braid in three strands from the roots up to an inch. then twist to the bottom. use a hair clip to hold it after twisting the hair before moving on to the next. interlock the twist using the locking. While there are many advantages to starting locs with two strand twists, it's important to be aware of potential challenges: time for maturation: the twist pattern may remain visible for 6 months to 2 years. patience is required as locs form gradually. unraveling: twists may come undone, especially in the early stages.
