The Globe Inn In The Footsteps Of Burns The burns rooms at the globe inn hold a number of authentic burns artefacts, including the chair that the poet sat in. you can also see verses that burns etched onto the windowpanes of his bed chamber using a diamond stylus. visit the dining room where burns ate, drank, sang, recited, and famously read aloud to his companions, from newspapers. You can sit in burns’ chair, see the snug where he entertained his companions, and check out mrs hyslop’s kitchen, where the cook would have prepared delicacies like haggis, mutton broth and clootie dumpling. tours are available tuesday to saturday at 11am and 3pm (pre booking only). they last approximately 45 minutes and cost £5 per person.

The globe is a special place where you can soak up the spirit of the poet by supping a dram of whisky in the snug bar or enjoying a meal in the fine dining restaurant. The globe inn reopened after this refurbishm­ent in 2021 and now consists of the 1610 restaurant, private dining rooms and bar areas and is a cosy, atmospheri­c place complete with timorous beasties furnishing­s, bespoke artwork and three beautiful stained glass windows, which depict scenes from tam o’ shanter.
