Review Zootopia 2016 Geeks Under Grace Zootopia review. march 12, 2016. beneath zootopia’s furry facade, lurks some compelling social commentary. sure it’s a kids film about an adorable bunny cop solving a missing persons case; but for adults, the filmmakers have laced this story with the perils of stereotyping and the manipulation of citizens via fear. 9.8. outstanding. overall, zootopia is amazing. it's not my very favorite disney movie, but it is high on the list, and i think it's technically one of their best. the animation, comedy and music are superb. the film is full of both emotional moments and fast dialogue, particularly between the two leads. The thriller plot, which borrows rather generously from “48 hrs” and every cop drama involving governmental conspiracy, is smartly shaped it’s hard to imagine any child or adult failing to be amused and excited by parts of it. the compositions and lighting are more thoughtful than you tend to get in a 3 d animated film starring big eyed. Zootopia is a reminder of how refreshing and even surprising it can feel when it’s done well. 5) the movie’s message — about prejudice and police brutality — is layered and well delivered.
