If you're towing relatively heavy very often, an auxiliary transmission cooler could be the cheapest insurance on your tranny spent. i have a trucool cooler on my f250 diesel hauling a 13,000 lb. fifth wheel trailer. i think it was about $150, and it took 1 2 hour to install. cant really compare your 2003 to a new truck. Hi, i recently purchased a 2016 f150 5.0 and the trans cooler lines are leaking. they are the lines from the cooler to the heat exchanger thing that ford calls the transmission warmer. the dealer wants 1700 to replace these 2 lines! seems ridiculous for a seemingly simple job.
