The Molecular Structure Of The Cu Ii Complex Download Scientific Abstract copper(ii) complexes of 2 hydroxyacetophenone n(4) cyclohexylthiosemicarbazone (h2l1) and 2 hydroxyacetophenone n(4) phenylthiosemicarbazone (h2l2) have been synthesized and characterized by different physicochemical techniques like magnetic studies and electronic, infrared and epr spectral studies. [(cul1)2] (1) is a dinuclear complex having four coordination around copper(ii) with. A single crystal suitable for x–ray diffraction was obtained from methanol. complex 1 was crystallized in monoclinic system with space group p2 1 n. the complex structure consists of a neutral centrosymmetric binuclear [cu (μ 2 –oh)(1,10 phenanthroline)(4 amino benzene sulfonic acid)] 2 molecule, and the asymmetric unit consists of half molecule. Fig. 1 shows the molecular structure of [cu(l 1) 2] obtained by x ray diffraction analysis. in addition, table 2 compares selected measured bond lengths and angles in the molecular structure of [cu(l 1) 2] with those previously reported for [cu(l 2) 2] [41]. the copper atom, which is positioned in the center of symmetry, has square planar. In this present research, a new 1d coordination polymer of cu(ii) complex [cu 2 (mpza) 2 (bz)] n (1) has been synthesized using two different ligands i.e. 5 methyl pyrazole 3 carboxylic acid (mpza) and benzoic acid (bz). x ray crystallography study reveals that in the solid state structure of the title complex, cu(ii) exhibits distorted.

The compounds, regardless of the metal ion, show a lower energy band around 340 nm for hl ligand and 381 nm for the cu(ii) complex, which is due to π → π* transition 36,37 that is an intramolecular charge transfer (ct transition) involving the whole molecule and within the azomethine (ch n) chromophore ground, a band around 262 for the hl. In the title complex, [cucl2(c6h7n)2(ch3oh)], the copper atom is five coordinated by two nitrogen atoms of 2 methylpyridine ligands, two chloro ligands and an oxygen atom of the methanol mol.
