Iron Man 3 Movie Review Common Sense Media 2. the plot is clever (ben kingsley is superb as the ‘terrorist mastermind’), morally complex and confusing. my 7yo was bored and disappointed. 3. the baddies look like humans, not robots, and their badness manifests as fire erupting through their skin and eyes. they sometimes explode completely. A man is strung up above an immolating pool of oil. tony spends the majority of the movie wearing blood on his face. he painfully injects sensors into his arms. he crashes in his suit. his suit crashes into him. pepper is manhandled, nearly strangled and, in a way, tortured. Some of the villain’s henchmen are shot and killed. people explode into fire from a fictional drug, which isn’t graphic but it can be intense. positive messages (3 5): the film has messages about respect, responsibility, humility, courage, teamwork, identity, and morality. positive role models and representations (3 5): tony stark continues. Violence & scariness. lots of explosions and several dead bodies in the movie. one person dies of illn. language. language includes "stupid," "idiot," "damn," a couple instances of "ass," one us. sex, romance & nudity. although there's only one big kiss, several scenes feature women dressed provoca.
