Optimal Flow For Torch Corals Youtube They can handle way more flow than we think; the key isn't to have direct flow but more turbulent multi directional flow in the tank. our little pumps can even scratch the surface of the amount of flow that our corals receive in the wild. one of the main reasons i have both maxspect gyres and mp40s in my tank. mp40 flow is too directional. There are other (yikes) attached. the flow is a little excessive. avoid the extremes extreme light and flow. like most large polyp stony corals, a torch coral benefits from moderate water flow. the polyps will remain retracted and under inflated if the water current is too fast because the large flowing polyps are prone to rip and tear in high. I absolutely love the placement of my torch coral and don't want to move them. but they get a lot of flow sometimes (maybe too much, you tell me!), and the joker torch coral flaps towards the powerhead and not away from it. i've attached a video to help show what's going on, along with a photo to show the placement of the return. Enough flow for a torch coral? or too much share new to torch corals and don’t want to harm it, only had it a few days and it is opening a little more each day.
