Far Cry 3 Gtx 970 Oc 1080p Max Settings 8x Msaa Fram Max settings, 1080, my msi 970 is oc'd 200 500. only getting between 48 70 fps. that seem right? this is a fairly old game, i thought the card would do better. can't get a solid 60 unless i drop down to high. i got a 970 too and if i run it on ultra settings 8xmsaa i get arround 50 fps. I5 750 @ 3.7 ghz gtx 770 oc 8 gb corsair vengeance win 7 64 pro i have looked everywhere for a solution for the past couple of days. i have set vsync on off, set postfx to low, then to "false." tried dx11, dx9, windowed, fullscreen, latest drivers, etc. i even set everything on "low" and ran it 800x600 resolution, and i still hover around 25 35 fps. any ideas? i'm running other games on ultra. Image comparison – msaa 2x vs 4x vs 8x. look closely at these screenshots. you can really see how higher msaa values smooth out jagged edges more effectively: msaa disabled – very jaggy. msaa 2x – improved but still some jaggies. msaa 4x – edges look great. msaa 8x – super smooth edges. msaa 8x clearly provides the highest image.

Msaa 8x is worthless. far cry 3 pc . gtx 1080 ftw. i just finished this game playing with 15~20 fps in lowest settings.
