Empower 500 Women Farmers In Mozambique Globalgiving This project seeks donations from generous people, organizations, to help liberate rural 500 poor marginalized households, women affected by hiv, single mothers, widows whose opportunities for education and employment are very limited. poverty has created a vicious cycle that leaves women feeling unappreciated and unheard. this project aims to uplift them through 1)poultry farming. 2. As a part of usaid’s priority on women’s economic empowerment, the usaid integrated land and resource governance (ilrg) program is supporting grupo madal to integrate a strong focus on gender equality, social inclusion, and women’s empowerment in land allocation policies and procedures and in how the company engages with smallholder farmers. Sonho real (real dream), is a farmers’ savings group in a rural area of nampula province. the group of 30 women and 5 men save money together for basic needs. oruwera is an agribusiness specializing in supplying improved agricultural seeds to farmers in mozambique. oruwera was looking to expand its business and customer base. •in africa, most women farmers are engaged in subsistence farming and are less productive than their male counterparts •there is limited rigorous evidence on what works to help women farmers transition into producing cash crops to sell in the market and running small businesses.
