The different models and years of northstar installations had quite a few coolant line routing diagrams. eldorado was different from seville and deville, and they were different within model lines depending on model year. eldorado was already destined for mid 2002 extinction before the 1998 model year began and so never got many of the 2000. It might need one but very often its not the cause of symtoms that would look like a bad thermostat. anyhow, its located at the rear of the engine, so drivers side on that coolant hose that goes to the lower radiator fitting, theres a neck there with 2 10mm (wrench size) bolts that hold that neck on. the only thing is when if you pull that off.
