Artstation Raijin Pacific Rim Uprising Morten Jaeger Pacific Raijin, a creature i took from start to finish for the film raijin pacific rim: uprising. i had the honor of working with an incredibly talented team during this project at dneg. i was responsible for refining the concept, modeling, sculpting and faceshapes for this kaiju. it was a huge effort from all departments, and in the end i think we managed to make something that we can all be proud. Here’s a version of raijin which didn’t quite make it through to the final film, aptly names “raijin 2.0”. after the three kaiju get frankensteined into mega kaiju, the two others were going to drop off of mega and a altered version of raijin was going to emerge, half ripper robotic tech, half mutilated kaiju. we nicknamed him “zombie kaiju” in production. rip raijin 2.0 check out.
