2010 Ford Escape Ac Compressor Not Turning On After inspecting the belt, there can only be two things left that could be happening: 1. the clutch is not getting a signal to turn on. this indicates some form of wiring problem. or . 2. the ac compressor is getting a command to turn on but is no longer able to, which would indicate that it needs replacing. 2. My 2010 escape seems to have intermittent ac clutch engagement. i have a full set of gauges and on a 70 degree day with the car off the pressures equalize to approx 75 80 lbs on both sides. if the car is started and the ac is turned on from this equalized state the ac compressor will not engage.

2010 Ford Escape Ac Compressor Not Turning On Learn how to troubleshoot and fix the common problem of ac compressor clutch not engaging in ford escape. check the belt, clutch, wiring, refrigerant, and other parts of the ac system. So i've replaced it again, tried to refill but the compressor clutch wont engage now. the pressure on the low side gets up to about 45ish which should make it turn on. it was turning on about 35 last time. so things i have tried. i replaced the pressure sensor at the firewall, didn't help. check the fuse and tried swapping the clutch relay but. 2015 a c not working, compressor good. my a c just stopped working. had it checked and the refrigerant was good. clutch engages and stays engaged, fan blows at all speeds but no cold air out any vents (ambient only). if i switch to heat everything works as normal. switch back to a c and only ambient air. The static pressure reading tells two things: 1) your system is not completely empty, although it could be low on freon; 2) the pressure is enough to engage the compressor clutch. i would test the resistance of the ac low pressure sensor. thank you for the comments. checking the low pressure sensor was on the list.

If voltage goes to the blower motor, it’ll need replacing. if there’s no voltage, test the resistor ( ). 2. ac system not blowing cold enough. the most common reason for your ford escape’s ac not blowing cold enough is low refrigerant levels, followed by a dirty evaporator or condenser issues (bad or clogged).
