2009 Dodge Ram 1500 Fan Cooling 5 7l V8 Hemi Mds Vvt Engine Heavy 2009 2012 trucks use hoat coolant or the mopar 5 year 100000 mile (orange in color) coolant. it is very important to only use a hoat coolant in these trucks. do not mix it with the newer oat coolant or a sludge will form and your hemi will overheat!! 2013 2018 trucks use oat coolant or the mopar 10 year 150000 mile (purple in color) coolant. 2016. engine. 5.7. i prefer top thermostat location as long as it has a bleeder hole in the stat. i would think top down vs. bottom up cooling is probably a pump efficiency thing as it is easier to use gravity than to fight it. not a fan of 180 stat on a system designed for max efficiency at 203 220 degrees.

Just bought a 2012 ram 1500 quad cab with a 4.7. when ac is turned on the check engine light comes on. fault code is p0481 which is cooling circuit ii malfunction. electric fan isn't coming on. checked all fuses and they're good. i switched the power window relay out with the fan relay and the power windows still work so i don't think it's the. Using the dodge radiator fan wiring diagram above, you’ll see that the relay ground is at g102 and the control coil receives power from the pcm. the pcm won’t provide power until the engine coolant temperature sensor reading reaches the set amount. you can run the engine while monitoring the ect using a scan tool with live data.
