Bmw 528i Coolant Hose Without Hose Clamps Cooling Hoses System I have a 97 528i. today my coolant level was at "cold", but i wanted to check the level in the water pump bleed screw. removed screw. the coolant was low. added coolant in res until it flowed out of bleed screw. tighten screw. now the fluid is much higher than "cold" in the res. Use the airflow over the radiator, either from the cooling fans or airflow from driving, to cool the coolant passing through it. this helps keep the engine cool when the temperature gets hot. radiators can leak or get clogged with corrosion. either condition reduces the effect of the cooling system.
